Somos Culture Creators & Fiesta Vibes have teamed up to produce a yearly activation called Fiesta Detroit. This week-long celebration is focused on Latinx millennial & Gen Z community. Somos created a week-long series of cultural events consisting of over 40 participating artists, community organizations, & performers. Events begin Thursday April 29 and end on May 5th. The main event is May 1st inclueding, 20 vendors, International Bigtime Wrestling, four corrido bands, break dancing, mutliple DJ’s and cultural perfromances through out the day.
Somos Culture Creators services the needs of the often overlooked Latinx art community of Detroit. In partnership with Fiesta Vibes and Motor City Street Dance Academy, Somos provides tangible performance outlets for Latinx musicians, performers, artists and curators.
In addition Somos strives to open platforms of access to industry jobs, workshops to build skills and professional development with opportunities to apply the skills they have learned with real life career paths in the arts .
We have worked to develop equitable relationships with major brands, venues, festivals and labels for over 200 Latinx artists. (Detroit Pistons, Modelo, Movement Music Festival and Capital Records) . It is this balance of both workforce development, cultural programming and commercially sustainable entrepreneurship that is at the heart of our work.
